Unapologetic, Christie Frees Nurse From Ebola Quarantine

“My job is not to represent her. My job is to represent the people of New Jersey.” Yes! I am with the Gov. on this particular issue. He is trying to keep the majority safe. So nurse, please do not make this about you.. Go with the flow and then go home. Thank you for your service though..#smh

Even as New Jersey officials released a nurse they had kept quarantined in a tent since her return from treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone, an unapologetic Gov. Chris Christie dismissed those who questioned his handling of the case and denied that he had reversed himself.
The nurse, Kaci Hickox, 33, who had been working with Doctors Without Borders, became the first public test case for a mandatory quarantine that both Mr. Christie and Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York announced on Friday.
Ms. Hickox’s lawyer, Steven Hyman, said that she had been released midday Monday from University Hospital in Newark. A hospital spokeswoman said that two black sport utility vehicles with tinted windows were headed to Maine, with the patient as a passenger in one. The spokeswoman, Stacie Newton, declined to say where in Maine the convoy was going, or whose vehicles they were.
The nurse’s departure, enshrouded in secrecy, capped a whirlwind four days in which Ms. Hickox criticized Gov. Christie’s quarantine policy, hired a legal team to defend her civil rights and had the governor defending a policy that he announced in association with New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo.

After 2nd shooting victim dies, Washington school struggles, mourns

No place is safe nowadays! Are children are being killed, abused and neglected. The only sure thing is to cover your children with prayers as they head out into the world. Live each day as it was your last because we are not promised any days in this world. Take in each moment, love on your family, and learn to forgive and let go of the past.

Washington high school is still coming to grips with how to return to normalcy after a second student victim died over the weekend after a campus shooting last Friday. Gia Soriano, 14, who was shot in the head when classmate Jaylen Fryberg took a gun into the Marysville-Pilchuck High School cafeteria and opened fire, died at a hospital Sunday night.
Another student who died on the day of the shooting was identified Monday as Zoe R. Galasso, 14, by the Snohomish County medical examiner's office.
Fryberg, 15, a freshman football player, died after shooting himself in the head, the medical examiner concluded Monday, calling his death a suicide.
Three more students remained hospitalized and were in critical to satisfactory condition.
"We are devastated by this senseless tragedy," Soriano's family said in a statement Sunday night. "Gia is our beautiful daughter and words cannot express how much we will miss her. We’ve made the decision to donate Gia’s organs so that others may benefit. Our daughter was loving, kind and this gift honors her life."

After son's birth boss brings spirituality into workplace.. I LOVE IT!!!!

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A for-profit company in Louisville is doing something a little different. It is bringing spirituality into the workplace.
At Signature Healthcare there is a prayer circle in the morning, a prayer room in the building and a company-wide prayer chain with 600 people. Bible verses are written on the walls and yoga is offered during lunch hour.
The company's founder, Joe Steier, came up with the concept after his son Luke was born.
Luke was born 12 weeks early, weighting 3 lbs, 2 oz. He also had a level 3 brain bleed out of 4.
“There's this initial feeling when you realize you're alone and can't handle it and this incredible humanity embraces you,” Steier said. "You start realizing you're not alone. You start seeing power of all these people Baptist leaders, Jewish leaders, different religions, praying with you and your family. Coming together in your darkest hour."
He said those prayers helped him and his family get through and Luke, who is now 9, healed miraculously.
Steier now goes to the nursing homes owned by his father's company and prays with the residents.
He took it further in the nursing homes, adding chaplains and spiritual programs, then added programs in the corporate office.
"At the end of the day people are looking for a more meaningful workplace. I think especially healthcare where so difficult these days,” Steier said.

Why? so many things wrong with this case! three-lives-changed-forever-after-dine-and-dash-turns-violent

I am not even mad at the girls because they will rip what the sow, but why on God's earth would the waitress go after them. There was no way this could have ended well. Then she says she has kids to raise. You should have though about that before you go chasing hoodlums! I feel bad for her but I do not think common sense was in play!

GILBERT, AZ (CBS5) -
It happened at the IHOP near Baseline and Val Vista on Monday afternoon.
Police said the two girls, ages 14 and 16, took their grandmother's car without permission. Police said the girls planned to dine and dash, and didn't bring any money.
The waitress, Juaneece Breneman said the girls ordered fish and chicken strips for a total of $17.23. After eating, they tried to sneak away.
Police tracked the girls to their grandma's house in Mesa using the license plate number. Police said the girls admitted to everything.
They've been booked into the Southeast Juvenile Facility where they face charges of aggravated assault and theft. Breneman wants the girls to be prosecuted.

This is why I cannot trust the daycare system to take care of my son!-Daycare worker caught yelling at a child!

The best person to raise your child is you. I keep praying that God gives me the grace to be the best mother and provide the best care for my son.
I am sure she has been doing this for a long time, she finally got caught. smh

Nigeria aims to have abducted girls freed by Tuesday: government sources

(Reuters) - Nigeria aims to secure the release by Tuesday of more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by Islamist Boko Haram militants, two senior government sources said on Saturday, although they declined to comment on where this handover would take place.
Nigeria's armed forces chief, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, announced on Friday a deal with Boko Haram for a ceasefire that would enable the release of the girls, whose abduction while taking exams in the remote northeastern town of Chibok in April caused international shock and outrage.

The announcement came a day before a rally of supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja at which either Jonathan or his vice president, Namadi Sambo, ie expected to announce his candidacy for February 2015 elections.
